Winter Wonderland Cake Decorating Contest

Ages 6-14. Bake a cake and decorate it as a winter wonderland! Bring it to the library to show off to our celebrity judges and maybe win a prize! Don't worry- we won't eat it! Winter Wonderland Cake Decorating Contest

Official Rules

Who: Ages 6-14

Age Categories: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14

When: Saturday, Jan. 26

Cakes can be submitted for judging from 9-11 a.m. No cakes will be accepted after 11 a.m. Judging will run from 11-12 p.m. with winners announced at 12 p.m. You must be present to win.

How: Cake will not be consumed during judging, only evaluated on the quality of their decorating. You may take your cake home after the winners have been announced. You must be present to win.

Cakes and decorations must be completely edible with the exception of separator plates, pillars, cake boards, and support dowels.

The theme is 'Winter Wonderland' and decorations should reflect this theme.

Parents may help younger children with baking the cake and preparing the frosting but all icing and decorating must be done by the child alone!

Cakes must be removed from their baking pans. Tiered cakes are welcome.

3 judges will evaluate each cake on Creativity, Use of Winter Wonderland theme, Use of edible materials in decorating, and Craftsmanship/Technique.

Prizes will be awarded in each age category.

A picture of each cake (not including contestants) will be taken and submitted to the Cadillac Library's Facebook page. The general public will be asked to vote on a People's Favorite over the course of the next week. 1 additional prize will be awarded to the winner of the People's Favorite.
