Help us choose between 5 titles. Our Winter Book Club for Kids is starting again soon and we want to know what you want to read! We will have the following 5 books on display at the library through the rest of October.

Drop by, sign up for the book club, and cast your vote for which book we will read. 

Book Club will meet every Monday from November - April from 3:30pm - 4:30pmWe will discuss a chapter of the book and have activities or crafts.

This book club is for children ages 7* years - 12 years.

*Children under 10 years of age must have a guardian or parent present in the library with them at all times.

 

Come join Mr. Beard on an adventure through worlds of creativity, imagination, and fun! This storytime is geared toward children 2-6 years old and their parents/guardians, but families are welcome! Every Wednesday from 10:30am - 11:00am at Mesick Public Library. 

Reading Dragons & Friends

Reading Dragons & Friends are back starting September 3rd, 2024!

All NEW cards to collect for the 2024-2025 school year.  Including a new friend: The Jackalope!

The program will run from September 2024 thru April 2025 for grades K-5.  Track your reading each month using our tracker sheet, then bring your sheet into the Children's room to get a set of 4 mythical creature cards, with new creatures added each month!

You can use the cards to play games with friends and compete in tournaments throughout  the year.  Come by the library to pick up your tracker and your starter cards starting on September 3rd!

With 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, the goal is simple: read 1,000 books with your child before they hit kindergarten.

Sounds like a lot, huh?  Don't worry!

1 book a day for 3 years = 1096 books
3 books a day for 1 year = 1096 books

Join the program by signing up at the circulation desk.

Get a log and cross off a symbol for each book your child reads - no need to list each individual book!

Which books "count"?

  • Repeats
  • Books your child heard in storytime (virtual or otherwise)
  • Books read to your child by family and friends
  • Books your child listened to via audiobook
