Reading Dragons & Friends

This new reading incentive program uses trading cards that feature mythical creatures. The program will run from September-April for grades K-8th. Track your reading each month using our tracker sheet, then bring your sheet into the Children's Room to get a set of 4 mythical creature cards, with new creatures added each month! You can use the cards to play games with friends and compete in tournaments throughout the year. Come by the library to pick up your tracker and your starter cards!

This program is offered at the Cadillac, Manton, and Mesick branches of our library.

UNDER ONE ROOF is taking the form of a youth book club for the winter! We will continue to meet every other Saturday (starting February 24th) at 1:00 PM, but now we will read and discuss a book together.

Sign up and we'll order you a copy of the first book we're reading, The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate and Patricia Castelao.

Sign up is from January 15th - February 10th. We will meet on February 24th at 1:00pm to discuss the book, do fun activities, and put together a craft!

Join us on Mondays from 4pm - 5pm for LEGO building. We have the classic blocks available, as well as larger blocks for smaller children. Ages 3-12 with a parent or guardian welcome!

With 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, the goal is simple: read 1,000 books with your child before they hit kindergarten.

Sounds like a lot, huh?  Don't worry!

1 book a day for 3 years = 1096 books
3 books a day for 1 year = 1096 books

Join the program by signing up at the circulation desk.

Get a log and cross off a symbol for each book your child reads - no need to list each individual book!
