Library Update 2/16/2021

An update from the Library Board of Trustees of the Cadillac Wexford Public Library and branches.

Library Service Update 2/16/21

For the health and safety of Wexford County and our patrons, the Cadillac Library and its Board of Directors has made the decision to remain on curbside service for the time being. This decision was made in line with current Wexford County Courthouse procedures, as well as other local government offices. While the library is not currently available for browsing, all of these services are still available:

  • Curbside pick-up for books and materials. Call 775-6541 or email pickup@cadillaclibrary.org. We’ll grab whatever books, audio books, DVDs, or board games you would like and deliver them to our pick up table by the front doors. If you’re not sure what you want, call or email and our library staff will recommend some great books you’ll love!
  • Computer use and copies by appointment. Just call 775-6541 and we’ll arrange an appointment time that works for you.
  • MelCat is still available through curbside service.
  • Watch our social media and website for updates on the awesome craft and activity kits we are offering for all ages! In March, try our March Madness book bracket challenge. Teens and middle grade readers can sign up for book subscription boxes. Adults should watch for our community journal project- Wexford Voices. And new things are added all the time!
  • If you need reference or technology help, library staff are available via phone 775-6541 or text a librarian at 231-577-9393.

When will the library be open for browsing?

While we know some of our patrons are ready to return to the library, we are practicing caution for a number of reasons– but the most important one is that we want to continue to provide services! By reducing our risk of community exposure to staff, we can keep the library open to curbside service and computers by appointment. A confirmed case of COVID among our library staff could potentially shut down the library for days with no services offered.

How will you decide to open for browsing?

The Library Board of Trustees is watching the data closely and following the lead of the Wexford County Courthouse and offices. As numbers continue to improve and access to vaccinations increase, we are hopeful that we will be able to safely accommodate the public soon.

The Cadillac Library and its staff are committed to providing our patrons with the highest level of service, and look forward to fully reopening in the near future. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe and healthy!
