Justing LaDoux is a sculptor, artist, and Kirtland Community College Art Instructor.  Justin uses recycled and found materials for his metal sculptures.  Justin will unveil his entry into this year's Grand Rapids Art Prize Competition.

The sculptures, most of which are built on a much larger scale than the ocean creatures they represent, are constructed of metal objects which LaDoux welds together.  Some areilluminated electrically and some have parts which can be moved into different positions.  "It's like a giant puzzle," said LaDoux, adding that he is always collecting metal objects whose shapes catch his eye.  LaDoux, who is a resident of Alma, said he finds objects everyehere, but garage sales, scond hand stores and thrift stores such as Goodwil, Salvation Army and St. Vincent De Paul are some of his richest grounds.
